Powerlifting Championships Hosted at York Barbell

The International Powerlifting Association (IPA) will be running it’s annual State Championship on June 26th and June 27th in York Barbell’s historic Bob Hoffman Auditorium at the corporate headquarters building. The 2021 Strength Spectacular Powerlifting Championships will include powerlifters from amateur and professional levels. In addition to watching the events, visitors will want to tour the on-site Weightlifting Hall of Fame museum and the York Barbell Total Fitness Outlet Store. 

Growing a Legacy

Bob Hoffman was a pioneer in the use of physical conditioning and strength training. His official weightlifting club produced a four-decade progression of world and Olympic champions. Through Hoffman’s efforts, philanthropy, and public attention he brought to the industry, the International Weightlifting Federation officially recognized his efforts by designating him “The Father of World Weightlifting” in 1970.

It’s only fitting that we hold various powerlifting/weightlifting events and competitions in our Bob Hoffman Auditorium to honor our founder and keep growing the legacy he set forth for York Barbell.

The next IPA/York sponsored event will be on November 20th-21st, 2021 for those who are interested in preparing to compete or wanting to watch.
